It was quite the run for Clayton Biglow at the Wrangler NFR. He won five rounds including winning Round 10 with an NFR record-tying ride of 93 points, a run that secured his first career gold buckle.
Biglow not only won those five rounds but also the average with 886.5 points on 10 head. In total, Biglow won over $240,000 at the NFR.
The winnings at the NFR brought his season total up to $425,843, a bareback riding record.
“It is a dream come true, no doubt. You lay in bed at night when you are a kid and dream like things like this to happen. For it to become a dream come true is a feeling like no other, I can’t tell you how it feels. It’s something that I have wanted to feel my entire career.”
With the big payday, Biglow earned more than any other competitor at the Wrangler NFR, which meant he also won the RAM Top Gun Award.
“I set two goals this year at the finals, I obviously wanted to win the world title. I got so wrapped up in thinking about a gold buckle, I almost thought I needed something else to take my mind off of it. So I told myself to go out there and win the Top Gun. If you do that you are going to win the world title.”
As if the money wasn’t enough, by winning the Top Gun award, Biglow also receives a 2020 RAM 3500 Heavy Duty Truck, a one-of-a-kind RAM Top Gun-branded revolver from Commemorative Firearms, as well as a custom Top Gun buckle from Montana Silversmiths.
You may not see Biglow behind the wheel of that new truck, however.
“I made a silly bet with her (his fiancee), I told her if I won the Top Gun I would give her the truck, so it looks like I’m giving her the truck too.”
