Emily Miller had a fast start at the NFR by winning round one and has kept the momentum going with her 13.64-second round-winning ride in the fourth round.
Miller has jumped into first place in the world standings thanks to the two round wins which have brought her NFR winnings to $98,846, the most of any contestant at the NFR.
Miller quickly credited her 9-year-old horse, Chongo.
“You know, I think every run you just go out there and try to focus on what you’ve worked on all year, and that’s one (barrel) to the right, two to the left and leave them up. He’s working outstanding, and I couldn’t be happier with him. As a rider, I feel like I failed him a bit on the first barrel, but that’s something I can fix. Luckily, he’s doing his job, so that’s huge.”
Miller will look to become the first six-figure of the NFR tonight in round five.
