WWII veteran Don Graves went from the battle of Iwo Jima to the recording studio!

Don Graves is a World War II veteran and one of the few who witnessed the flag being raised after the war in Iwo Jima.

This week, he is in Nashville celebrating not only his 100th birthday but also a newfound passion for songwriting.

Don and his co-writer Jason Sever stopped by the RFD-TV studio and spoke with Tammi Arender about his song “The Sand of Iwo Jima,” his time serving our country, and their partnership.
