After days of counting midterm votes in Iowa, we now know Cindy Axne, a member of the House Ag Committee, lost her seat to Republican Zach Nunn.

Axne was elected in 2018 and recently called on the Department of Justice to investigate large meatpackers and also helped introduce Ocean Shipping Reform.

Axne congratulated Nunn on his win.

“Representing Iowa’s Third Congressional District has been one of the best opportunities of my life and I hope Zach Nunn understands the responsibility of this office and will continue my hard work to uplift Iowans’ voices in Washington, D.C.,” said Axne.
