An Iowa pork producer is expressing concerns about what would happen if African swine fever reaches Puerto Rico.
Right now the herd-killing virus has been limited to the Dominican Republic. Last week, USDA said that if it reaches U.S. territories it will be considered to be on mainland America.
That could prompt China to stop importing U.S. pork.
An Iowa producer says that could be bad for U.S. farmers, especially if it takes months to resolve any trade issues.
