The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help after a Colorado rancher reported $7,200 worth of red angus cattle missing.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, it is unclear what time the half-dozen head of cattle were stolen.
“We don’t have a lot of cattle theft or missing cattle reported in our county. In this case, the cattle have a fairly high value,” Sheriff Dave Martin told the Sterling Journal-Advocate. “We would like to solve this crime and return the cattle to its owner.”
The theft of a half-dozen cattle totaling $7,000 in Colorado carries a penalty of 2-6 years in prison if convicted. It is a felony.
Anyone with information should call 970-867-2461 or 800-222-TIPS(8477).
The theft has been reported to the brand inspector.
