“Bear with me on this photoshoot": Colorado bear takes 400 selfies on trail cams

Back in November of 2022, city officials in Colorado discovered that a woodland creature had taken up a good bit of storage on their wildlife cams.

The City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks staff has nine motion-activated cameras around 46,000 acres. One of those cams was turned into a personal photographer. A bear ended up triggering the motion activation and snapping over 400 selfies.

“Wildlife cameras help us learn what animals are out there and what they’re up to over the course of a day, a week, or even years. And sometimes, that means taking a bunch of selfies, just like us,” OSMP staff stated in a press release.
