Jamie Bonifas, chapter President of Blue Hill Nebraska FFA, spoke with RFD-TV’s Mark Oppold about her chapters involvement in giving back to the community.
Bonifas explained the backpack program her chapter is involved in so that students in need have food during weekends and breaks. Bonifas also told us about the community garden the Blue Hill chapter grows, to provide fresh produce to the school lunch program. The chapter was awarded a grant for a tower garden, to produce fresh lettuce, spinach, and other vegetables for students to eat during lunch as a healthy and fresh alternative.
