African Swine Fever hit another European country as hard Bulgarian authorities announced Friday that they will cull 24,000 pigs after another outbreak.

The outbreak is the first one in a Balkan nation since the virus hit six breeding farms in August. That outbreak forced about 130,000 pigs to be culled.

Overall, there were 42 outbreaks in Bulgaria in 2019, eight of which came on industrial farms.
