RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison spoke with Cambridge, GA FFA chapter President Meaghan Bybee about how her chapter has changed the lives of shelter cats and earned hands-on experience through the agriculture program.
Cambridge FFA hosts shelter cats in their veterinary science program to socialize them and to allow students hands-on experiences for practical application of veterinary skills. “Almost all cats that come through the program are adopted out,” Bybee tells RFD-TV’s, Janet Adkison. Cambridge also hosts a “Vet Camp” that teaches students about canine CPR and provides knowledge about the veterinary career pathway.
Cambridge FFA is one of ten FFA chapters which will compete in the “Model of Excellence” award later this month at the National FFA Convention. The award focuses on chapters which are growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.
