Carter Canyon Fire has devastated pastureland in Nebraska; mostly contained

A large wildfire burned more than 15,000 acres of land in western Nebraska, much of that is farmland.

The Carter Canyon Fire is now mostly contained, but not before devastating pastures in the Nebraska panhandle. Emergency crews came in from out of state to help battle the blaze. Many residents were forced to evacuate and a few homes were lost.

It started with a lightning strike.
