CA’s water agency loses case on water allocations for producers

California’s water agency overstepped its authority in reducing water allocations for farmers and ranchers.

That ruling was upheld by an appeals court. The orders were imposed by the state Water Resources Control Board.

This month’s ruling emphasized that it is a trespass on water rights if these groups limit them more than the state’s water code explicitly allows.
