China will no longer allow imports of pigs, wild boars and other related products from Indonesia because of concerns over African Swine Fever.
The disease has spread throughout China since it was first detected in August of 2018 and has played a part in cutting the world’s largest pig herd by 40 percent.
Beijing has attempted a number of members to boost pig production while simultaneously trying to control ASF outbreaks and prevent new ones.
Indonesia had reported 392 African swine fever outbreaks as of December 17, China’s General Administration of Customs said in a statement on its website.
