Toby Keith, a legendary singer-songwriter, has died after battling stomach cancer. He was diagnosed in 2022 and “fought with grace and courage,” according to AP News.
He is known for his hits, “Beer For My Horses,” “As Good As I Once Was,” “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,” and “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.”
Keith was honored by BMI in November of 2022 with the BMI Icon Award, just a few months after announcing his cancer diagnosis. Keith said, “I always felt like the songwriting was the most important part of this whole industry.”
