MADISON, WIS. (RFD NEWS) — National Dairy Month events are taking place across the country, with Wisconsin highlighting a statewide campaign featuring local dairy farmers on buses and billboards in major cities.
Suzanne Fanning with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin joined us on Friday’s Market Day Report to take a closer look at the campaign and its goals during National Dairy Month.
In her interview with RFD News, Fanning discussed the “Born to Dairy” campaign and its efforts to showcase Wisconsin dairy farmers through public advertising across the state, how the campaign concept developed, and the planning that went into featuring producers in a wide-reaching promotional effort.
Fanning highlighted that this campaign differs from traditional agricultural marketing methods by aiming to increase public engagement through greater visibility. She says organizers hope the campaign will help the public better understand the importance of strengthening the connection between producers and consumers.
Fanning also shared statistics on the economic impact of Wisconsin’s dairy industry and its importance to the state’s agricultural economy. Finally, she offered closing thoughts for both producers and consumers during National Dairy Month celebrations.
