FREMONT, Neb. (RFD NEWS) — Buying and selling equipment is an important part of managing any farming operation, and many producers rely on online auctions to market or purchase machinery.
DPA Auctions, formerly known as Del Peterson & Associates, was founded in 1972 and remains family-owned and operated. COO Dallas Polivka joined us on Thursday’s Market Day Report to discuss the company’s evolution, new partnerships, and technology designed to help producers better manage their equipment.
In his interview with RFD News, Polivka said the company auctions a wide range of equipment, including tractors, combines, semis, transportation equipment and construction machinery.
Polivka also discussed DPA’s growing partnerships with farm organizations, including soybean associations, agricultural consulting groups and state agribusiness organizations. He said those partnerships are designed to bring more bidders to the auction platform while offering members exclusive buyer and seller benefits, along with access to the company’s equipment valuation platform.
That platform, known as AgIQ, was developed using more than 50 years of completed auction sales data. Rather than relying on asking prices, Polivka said the system provides equipment valuations based on actual auction results and incorporates comparable sales and macroeconomic inputs.
For larger operations managing multiple pieces of equipment, Polivka said AgIQ also includes an asset management feature that allows producers to view their entire equipment fleet in one place. The tool provides current valuations, tracks accumulated asset values and depreciation, and helps producers evaluate their equipment portfolio.
Producers can learn more about upcoming auctions, buying and selling equipment, and access AgIQ by visiting DPA Auctions’ website.
