Actor James Caan, best known for his roles in The Godfather and El Dorado, has passed away at the age of 82.
The Hollywood “tough guy” was born in New York in 1940. He began his career off-Broadway and then eventually would appear for the first time on television in an episode of Naked City. His first big-screen role would come as an uncredited sailor in 1963’s Irma la Douce.
He would appear in other movies such as Lady in a Cage, The Rain People, Brian’s Song, Rollerball, 1941, and Elf.
However, his most notable roles were in El Dorado, along John Wayne, and The Godfather. Over his career, he would see nominations for the Golden Globes, the Emmy’s, and the Academy Awards.
