Ethanol advocates grow more frustrated with the EPA after it releases official details on a plan to offset biofuel waivers.
Under the proposed rule the EPA would still grant small refinery waivers but in order to reach the promised 15 billion gallons of ethanol usage, the agency would increase obligations for other fuel companies.
The National Biodiesel Board says this gives no assurance EPA’s estimates will come close to actual exemptions. The EPA will hold a public hearing on the proposal on October 30th followed by a 30-day comment period.
