NASHVILLE, Tenn. (RFD News) — Ethanol production eased last week, but stronger blending demand kept the report from sending a purely negative signal for corn users.

Renewable Fuels Association analysis of Energy Information Administration data shows production fell 1.1 percent to 1.09 million barrels per day for the week ending June 19. That equals 45.78 million gallons per day.

Output was still 0.8 percent above the same week last year and 3.1 percent above the five-year average. The four-week average held at 1.10 million barrels per day, or 16.94 billion gallons annualized.

Ethanol stocks rose 0.5 percent to 24.6 million barrels, with builds in the Midwest and Gulf Coast. Gasoline supplied dropped 4.7 percent to 8.78 million barrels per day.

Blender inputs rose 0.3 percent to a four-week high, while exports fell 4 percent to 5.1 million gallons per day.

Farm-Level Takeaway: Corn producers should monitor ethanol margins, gasoline demand, and stocks as summer fuel use shapes corn grind.
