Extra limbs successfully removed from chicken

This chicken was really stepping out in the farm yard.

Baby, the chicken was born with extra limbs due to a parasitic twin. She was successfully operated on and had them removed.


Extra limbs on a chicken is not uncommon. The condition is called Polymelia and is a genetic birth defect. Most of the time, chickens can adapt to their extra limbs and don’t require surgery.
