Each year at the FFA National Convention, students are given the opportunity to participate in a National Day of Service that coincides with the Convention and Expo. National FFA partners with CSX, as a sponsor, to provide students with this opportunity.
The FFA motto is “ Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.” Community service is a vital role for the organization. During the 2016 National Days of Service: 1188 FFA Members and 226 FFA delegates participated. This equated to 5400 hours of community service or $127,224 of economic impact for the Indianapolis area.
This year there are fifteen sites, with multiple shifts for members to volunteer at Thursday and Friday of Convention. Participating organizations include Big Car Collective, Downtown Indy Inc. and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Families First.
