Finnegan the boar breaks records at Iowa State Fair’s Big Boar Competition

A fan-favorite event is breaking records at this year’s Iowa State Fair!

The Big Boar Competition compares the largest boars in the state. This year, one boar has blown the rest out of the water weighing in at a staggering 1,420 pounds.
Finnegan the boar broke the previous record by 85 pounds.

Farmer Brian Britt says that the boar’s unique frame contributed to the record-setting weight. Britt’s hogs also won the competition back in 2019 and 2021.

Senator Chuck Grassley was in hog heaven at the fair getting the opportunity to meet and take a photo with Finnegan.
