The ag community is mourning the loss of Bill Northey, a figure in Iowa agriculture, whose unexpected death was announced Monday.
Northey served as Iowa’s Ag Secretary for 11 years. He then became USDA’s first Undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation under President Trump.
American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall expressed condolences saying that Northey was a tireless champion for farmers and ranchers, highlighting his visionary leadership and dedication to improving rural America.
He emphasized Northey’s impact on USDA programs and called for unity in upholding agriculture’s importance.
