Input costs for hog producers have fallen lately, but analysts warn there is still plenty to be cautious about as the year presses on.
RaboResearch warns geopolitical events are still working against the hog industry. The issues stem back to the trade war with China, and the November election could bring more uneasiness to the market. Consumer interest is another issue. The Pork Board says it is working to find ways to connect to the new generations because they do not buy and cook pork like in years past.
Analysts with Farm Progress say producers need to look at the whole industry and simply take control of what you can.
