GOP efforts underway to stop Biden administration from lifting sheep and goat import ban

Keep the sheep and goat imports out!
That is the message one GOP Senator is sending with his new bill.

Senator John Barasso out of Wyoming proposed legislation to keep the Biden administration from lifting the ban on these imports until more research is completed. He wants to ensure the possibility of contamination or transmission of diseases is completely eliminated.

Last year, USDA implemented a final rule to remove restrictions, but it has yet to take effect.
The American Sheep Industry Association and Wyoming Wool Growers Association support Barasso’s efforts.
