Head down to New Mexico if your dream job is... hugging bears

In a social media post, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish stated that it is looking for “bear huggers.”
It is not what you think.

The department is looking for Conservation Officers and pointed out that one perk of the job is the ability to hug bears from time to time.

In the post, they stated, “Now hiring professional bear huggers. Must have ability to hike in strenuous conditions, have the courage to crawl into a bear den, and have trust in coworkers to keep you safe during the process. Not all law enforcement field work is this glamorous, but we would love for you to join the team.”

To be a “bear hugger”, aka Conservation Officer, you must have a Bachelor of Science degree, law enforcement, natural resources conservation, ecology, or related fields.

The department stated in another post, “if crawling in bear dens was too intimidating for you, we are also hiring professional deer protectors.”

The next round deadline to apply is March 30th. To apply, click HERE
