High risk, high reward for ag research - that’s the goal of a new bipartisan bill introduced on Capitol Hill.

It’s the Advancing Cutting Edge Agriculture Act that aims to step up U.S. research and development. Republican Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas and Democratic Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado say it will help secure America’s food supply and give farmers and ranchers the tools to meet modern day challenges.

They also say as major challenges like extreme weather, high input costs, and more global competition continue, investing in ag research is more important than ever. ‘
