Hit songwriter, Mark James passes away at age 83

Hit songwriter and member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Mark James passed away Saturday, June 8th. He was at his home in Nashville, Tennessee when he passed at the age of 83.

Mark was named “Songwriter of the Century” in 2000 by BMI. Three songs of his were named on the list of the 100 Greatest Songs of the 20th Century: “Always on My Mind,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” and “Suspicious Minds.”
He won two Grammy awards for “Always on My Mind.” One being Song of the Year and the other being Country Song of the Year.
