It’s fall, and, as predicted, we’re starting to see an uptick in High Path Avian Flu on farms. Right now the majority of cases reported in the last 30 days are in South Dakota. About 420,000 birds have been infected, mostly on commercial farms. North Dakota and Minnesota have also reported cases, but on a much smaller scale. Federal inspectors urge bird owners to practice strong bio-security measures as cases rise in the fall when birds migrate.
