The more than two-year-long outbreak of High Path Avian Flu is still ongoing, and it has taken a toll on poultry producers across the country.
Vaccines have been discussed, but one national group worries they could be just as harmful as the virus.
The National Turkey Federation says it all centers around trade. Group Chair John Zimmerman tells Brownfield Ag News any time we vaccinate, it affects those relationships. He warns proper trade agreements need to be in place to ensure exports will not be impacted.
Zimmerman also warns about the logistics of vaccinating so many birds and says more strategies need to be explored for offering efficiency.
