Increasing Fuel Availability: How the ag industry is reacting to the new bill

Legislation has been introduced to allow the year round sale of E15.

U.S. Senators Deb Fischer from Nebraska and Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota introduced the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2022. The bill aims to allow the year round sale of E15 and benefit both the economy and environment.

The legislation has landmark support from what is deemed an unprecedented mix of stakeholders, including the Renewable Fuels Association.

“It provides a simple, straightforward solution that will finally remove a burdensome and nonsensical barrier to broader deployment of cleaner, more affordable fuels,” RFA President and CEO, Geoff Cooper says. “We urge Congress to move quickly to adopt this commonsense legislation.”

The National Corn Growers Association as well as the American Petroleum Institute also support this action.
