Japan is becoming a strong customer of U.S. pork.

An Iowa pork producer told Brownfield Ag News that the U.S. trade agreement with the nation is doing wonders for the industry. Japan purchased more than a billion dollars worth of pork from the U.S. last year, with a particular interest in chilled pork.

The bilateral trade deal with Japan will do away with tariffs on U.S. pork products next year.
