JBS says that all operations are back to normal following a ransomware attack that crippled production this week.
The company says that its robust IT system and encrypted backup servers allowed it to get back online quickly, and the production loss will be caught back up by the end of next week and says that any negative impact on producers and consumers is limited.
Pork producers are still recovering from the pandemic and the security breach just adds another kink to that recovery.
The president of the Wisconsin Pork Association says that the supply chain is efficient but events over the last few years have revealed some points for improvement. He says that this offers the industry an opportunity to learn and improve as it moves forward.
