Judge rules against race-based loan payments

A federal judge sides with Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller in a third ruling against USDA’s loan payments to black farmers.

The judge said that the program violates the Constitution’s equal protection clause.

USDA says that it will keep working to create the program, despite payments being halted.
