Justin Wilson Looking Back - Barbecued Crabs

Serves 4-6 people


  • 1/2 cup of chili powder
  • 1/2 cup of plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of hickory-smoked salt
  • Cooking oil


Put the dry ingredients in a heavy paper bag, and shake to mix. Add crab bodies one at a time and shake.

Fry crabs in deep, hot fat (about 160 to 365 degrees) until done.
