RFD-TV is thrilled to host the legendary singer, composer, actor, and beloved TV show host, Pat Boone, in our studios on Wednesday, Sept. 6 to discuss his extraordinary career on our exciting interview series, TalkShopLive!

Boone will also perform some new music from his latest project, “Country Jubliee,” and viewers will get a chance to purchase autographed copies of the album.

Boone took the music industry by storm in the 1950s and 1960s, and is considered the second-best-selling artist of that era after only Elvis Pressley. During that era, he sold more than 45 million records, had 38 Top 40 hits, appeared in more than 12 Hollywood films, as well as hosted two namesake shows, The Pat Boone Show and ABC’s The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom.

In honor of the event, we went back through his catalog and picked out A Few of Our Favorite Pat Boone songs:

1

“Love Letters in the Sand”

Pat Boone rose to fame quickly thanks to his smooth style, clean image, and crooning vocals. One of his first and most iconic hits is the track, “Love Letters in the Sand,” written by J. Fred Coots, Nick Kenny. and Charles Kenny in 1931. Once Boone recorded the track in 1956, the song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1957 and spent five weeks in the top spot on the chart during June and July 1957.

2

“Moody River”

Boone achieved many other No. 1 hits in the late 50s and early 60s, but one of our favorites from 1961 is “Moody River,” a hauntingly beautiful song with a melancholic melody and evocative lyrics that tells a story of lost love and remorse. Boone’s rendition of the song, originally written by Gary D. Bruce, struck a chord with audiences thanks to the emotional depth of his delivery, coupled with the song’s poignant narrative. “Moody River” remains a classic example of Boone’s ability to convey deep emotions through his music, and it continues to be cherished by fans as one of his most memorable songs.

3

“Grits”

Written by Boone and produced by Jimmy Nichols and Frank Myers, “Grits” is a high-energy song, with line dancing written all over it, featuring country music stars Ray Stevens, The Gatlin Brothers, Lorrie Morgan, Deborah Allen, and country legend Roger Miller’s son, Dean Miller.

“Filming the music video for ‘Grits’ was a true delight,” Boone said. “I wanted to bring the spirit of the song to life visually, and Preston Leatherman did an outstanding job directing the video. Line dancing was the perfect choice to complement the infectious energy of the track. Jamie’s exceptional talent and creativity added an extra layer of excitement to the video. It was wonderful to see dancers from across the Southeast come together for a good time.”

Last time Boone stopped by the RFD-TV Studios, he spoke with Tammi Arender about the song, “Grits.” Watch the full interview below:
