The dairy industry is continuing its proactive efforts to get more milk in schools and to make sure that milk is as healthy as possible for children.
The International Dairy Foods Association says most fluid milk processors are limiting the amount of added sugar in flavored milk. The agreement aims for a maximum of 10 grams per glass starting in the 2025-2026 school year, down from 14 grams.
IDFA says 80 percent of milk in schools is flavored, so 37 milk processors are making this commitment to ensure students continue to drink it.
