Cole Anderson died when he was just 15 but his parents still found a way to celebrate on Jan. 25, which would have been his 21st birthday

His family donated $2,500 to a local Chick-Fil-A so others could enjoy the day.

""It was a process for us in terms of getting to that point of choosing to look at the beauty in the ashes,” Barbara Anderson told 1011 News in Lincoln. “It’s a bittersweet day for us.......But we’ve chosen to take the best part of Cole and the best part of the day and chosen to remember him that way instead of choosing to dwell on the pain and the hurt.”

Each free ticket at the restaurant had a picture of Cole hunting with his father on it as well as bible verses.

Cole’s loved sports, trap shooting and hunting.

Chick-Fil-A matched the family’s donation and the restaurant served up 334 free meals.

Cole’s father also gave people some free services on their vehicles at his auto repair shop.
