North Carolina producer grows hemp to make sustainable fiber

The North Carolina Farm Bureau highlights the work being done on Sound Mind Farms, a farm producing hemp to make sustainable fabrics.

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. (NCFB) — In North Carolina, the hemp industry has seen significant growth since 2017. The state is now home to more than 1500 licensed producers.

This year’s hemp harvest is currently underway in the Tar Heel State. Farmer Kyle Smith is transforming this crop into fiber. The North Carolina Farm Bureau highlights the work being done on Sound Mind Farms.
