Oklahoma Sooners honor the late Toby Keith at their annual spring game

The Oklahoma Sooners paid tribute to the late Toby Keith at their annual Spring game this past weekend.

Though Keith did not attend college, he was often seen attending Sooners games on the sidelines. From a young age, he was working OU football games selling refreshments. In 1994, he got the chance to participate in the annual Oklahoma alumni football game which he described as a “dream come true.”

The University continues to honor the late country music legend throughout its sports games, including baseball, softball, and basketball.

The University says he was always seen with a Red Solo Cup in his hand.
