It has been a strange season for corn growers so far this year, from early planting to rain delays.
It is all leading up to a varying crop not only across the country but even across operations.
Corn planting is about equal to its typical five-year average. However, five states have really fallen behind. Those include Kentucky, Tennessee, Minnesota, Texas, and Wisconsin. Wisconsin is so far behind it has the smallest percent of its crop in the ground when compared to other top-growing states.
Meanwhile, North Carolina still remains the only state to have completed is corn planting.
