It is already hot down in the southwest and it is only getting hotter. Triple digits are filling up the ten-day forecast.
USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey tells us more about the heat farmers can expect in the coming days: “As this week progresses and we head toward the weekend, we are looking at the hottest weather of the season coming to the desert southwest from Thursday through the weekend, right through Sunday. We are looking not just at triple-digit heat for the desert southwest, but 110-degree heat.”
That heat is going to expand further across the country this weekend. He says that it will build northward and eastward with the possibility of triple digits for the Centrals Plains and in Louisiana.
