“Refuel Her Greatness” unveiled at NY State Fair

Today kicks off New York’s State Fair!

The fair and American Dairy Association North East unveiled this year’s butter sculpture! Titled “Refuel Her Greatness.”

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Title 9 and the strides women have made in sports. Housed inside the Dairy Products Building, this is the fair’s 53rd butter sculpture. This is the 20th straight year Jim Victor and Marie Pelton of Pennsylvania have been the official state fair sculptors.

The husband and wife duo spent the past ten days in the refrigerated vault turning 800 pounds of butter. This will be on display until Labor Day and while the butter cannot be eaten. They will recycle in a methane digester to create electricity and liquid fertilizer for crops.
