Some sad news to report this morning. One of the biggest supporters of the FFA, Bill Stagg, passed away after a long battle with cancer.
For almost 40 years, Bill Stagg shared the story of agricultural education and FFA throughout the country. He retired two years ago, but his commitment to the organization never wavered. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Stagg began his career as an audiovisual specialist with the National FFA Organization in November 1978. That role grew over the years and in 2008 he was named Director Of Strategic Communications. Stagg’s leadership and historical knowledge have played a key role for the organization. He was given both an honorary State FFA degree from California as well as an honorary American FFA degree from the National FFA Organization. In 2015, Stagg received the VIP Citation, which recognizes dedicated individuals who contribute to the FFA mission.
No one did more to support RFD-TV than Bill Stagg, RFD-TV Founder and President, Patrick Gottsch, says,
Bill said it best himself, “I’ve loved working on behalf of FFA members, their advisers, and the dedicated professionals who support them”.
We loved working with you, Bill. May you rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bill Stagg’s family, friends, and the National FFA Organization.
