Rep. Ashley Hinson: Ag industry can now breathe a ‘sigh of relief’ after avoiding a rail strike

Representative Ashley Hinson out of Iowa is hoping the ag industry can breathe a sigh of relief now that the rail shutdown has been averted.

She says personally, it was the right thing to do.

“I did support the legislation to avert a strike because it would have turned our supply chain on its head. It would have been catastrophic for our workers, consumers across the country and farmers.”

Hinson was hopeful the railroads and workers would come to an agreement on their own but is pleased with the efforts by Congress and President Biden.
