LINCOLN, Neb. (RFD-TV) — This week’s Rural Health Matters focused on an often-overlooked issue in rural America: access to dental care.
University of Nebraska President Dr. Jeffrey Gold joined the program to discuss the challenges rural communities face in maintaining good oral health — and how those challenges affect overall wellness. He addressed the limited access to dental providers in many regions and the steps being taken to expand care and training across the state.
Dr. Gold also emphasized ongoing efforts to improve dental health services in underserved areas, noting the importance of outreach, education, and workforce development. He said maintaining regular dental care is essential for long-term health, particularly in places where access to care may be limited.
Dr. Jeffrey Gold explains how springtime brings seasonal changes to agricultural operations and, with them, renewed concerns about safety, allergies, and mental health this week on Rural Health Matters.
