Sanderson Farms may be considering sale to Continental Grain

The third-largest chicken processor in the U.S. could be on the market.

Sanderson Farms has gained the interest of ag investment firm Continental Grain and is reportedly looking for advice on what a sale could look like.

Continental Grain already owns a small chicken processor. If the sale goes through, it would be expected to pay a premium to Sanderson’s market value of $3.5 billion dollars.

Rising chicken prices helped Sanderson have better than expected sales last month.
