Nathan Apodaca was on his way to the potato warehouse he’d worked at in Idaho Falls for almost 20 years when his truck broke down.

Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he grabbed his skateboard and bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice and started riding the final two miles to work. On that ride, he recorded the TikTok video that would change his life.

He posted a video of him singing the Fleetwood Mac hit Dreams to his account, 420doggface208, and within an hour, it had 100,000 views. It now has more than 35 million.

“When I heard ‘Dreams,’ that’s when I figured, ‘OK, this is it,’” he told NPR over the weekend. “I almost didn’t post it, but I was like, ‘Let’s post it and see what it does within an hour.’”

The video quickly spread to Instagram and Twitter as well and Apodaca, caught the eye of celebrities, including Mick Fleetwood himself. The legendary drummer even recorded his own take on the video.

“It was spontaneous. It was heartfelt. It was fun, and God knows we need some of that right now,” Fleetwood told NPR. “To some extent, it was a lovely accident......It could have been any song, but it was ours. For us bunch in Fleetwood Mac, the inspiring thing was that it was just so off the wall.”

Apodaca didn’t just attract the attention of the band who’s music he was playing, but also the CEO of the juice he was drinking.

Ocean Spray CEO Tom Hayes not only recreated the video, but he also presented Apodaca with a brand new truck.

Apodaca has also received donations online, which he says he will use to put a down payment on a new home.
