FCC Chairman Ajit Pai announces his resignation

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai announces his departure from the agency.

The resignation will take place on January 20th and is a customary move with a new White House administration coming in. His departure will allow President-elect Joe Biden the opportunity to choose a new chairman for the FCC.

Pai was appointed a commissioner by President Obama in 2012, and President Donald Trump promoted Pai to the role of chairman in January of 2017, following his inauguration.
