Recent outbreaks of PEDV linked to swine shown at livestock shows

There is growing concern this morning for PEDV as livestock shows reopen this year.

The porcine epidemic diarrhea virus is very contagious and can get out of hand quickly.

The University of Arkansas says that some recent cases have been linked to show animals, which could be spurred on due to stress from traveling. The cold weather is not helping either.

Vets say to keep healthy pics away from the sick ones and separate them after returning from shows as well. It is especially important for infant pics, which usually die from PEDV.
